Antioch Bell was a member of the Black Thorns mercenary unit.[2]
History
Early History
Antioch Bell served in the Twenty Sixth Lyran Guards of the Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth for seven years.[1]He was dismissed from the unit for for withholding knowledge of a crime. [3] After his military service, he joined up with a group of his former comrades lead by a retired Lyran officer from the Twenty Sixth, Hauptmann Salander Morgain, and traveled to Borghese in hopes of forming a mercenary unit.[4]
Borghese
In 3055 on Borghese, he met Jeremiah Rose, commander of the Black Thorns, a mercenary unit that served as the planetary garrison force. Learning that Rose needed a scout, Morgain sent Bell to help the Black Thorns.[1] Tensions rose between the Black Thorns and the Preservationists, a pro-Clan faction[5] which Morgain was affiliated with as an enforcer. Morgain and his men, including Bell, were sent to hunt down the Black Thorns, eventually catching up with the mercenaries where a battle erupted.[6] After hearing Morgain gloat about his duplicitous plans, Bell saved Rose's life when he turned on Morgain and killed him with a shot to the cockpit of Morgain's Marauder II.[7] Bell then revealed Morgain's plans made with the Preservationists and their invitation to join up with Clan Jade Falcon forces.[8] Bell was then invited to join the Black Thorns.[2]
Member of The Black Thorns
Bell and the Black Thorns subsequently fought against Clan Jade Falcon Forces on Borghese,[9] later identified as the Ninth Talon.[10] After the Black Thorns completed their contract on Borghese, they took employment with the Draconis Combine and were sent to Wolcott as a garrison unit.[11] Bell was assigned to the command lance as Rose's bodyguard.[12] Bell took part in the mission to Courchevel and survived the fighting there against Clan Nova Cat.[13]
BattleMechs
Antioch Bell fought in a BNC-5S Banshee on Borghese and Courchevel.[7][14]
