Alison Vanbrugh was a notable siege vehicle commander in the Second New Ivaarsen Chasseurs during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
When the Draconis Combine routed the Second New Ivaarsen Chasseurs from Barlow's End during the 3144 invasion of the Federated Suns, Sergeant Major Vanbrugh's platoon of siege vehicles made a stand outside of the Princess Melissa Spaceport to ensure the escape of the rest of their unit. As a forty-year veteran of the Second Chasseurs, Vanbrugh expected to retire in her position as platoon commander but could not stand the idea of her life-long comrades and pupils being swarmed by enemy troops as they boarded their DropShips. Leading her tankers into battle with orders to "fire until I come around and personally lift your fingers off the triggers," she was killed when a Ryuken-roku Hitotsume-Kozo attacked her machine with its hatchet. While none of Vanbrugh's platoon survived their last stand, she was placed at the top of the list of posthumous commendations that the Second Chasseurs gave to the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns' High Command upon reaching the safety of Sun Prairie.[1][2]
