Remy Doulton was the commanding officer of the Eighth Alshain Regulars during the War of 3039.[1]
History
Tai-sa Doulton and the Eighth Alshain Regulars, accompanying the Eleventh Legion of Vega, were dispatched to recapture the world of Alrakis during the Draconis Combine's counterattack against the Federated Suns and Lyran Commonwealth. The defending Twenty-third Arcturan Guards were entirely unprepared for the Combine force's arrival and the invaders soon stood on the outskirts of Alrakis' capital city Sigmundrac. Doulton—young and eager to fight—advocated for an immediate assault against the entrenched Lyrans' positions, but the more experienced Esau Olivares of the Eleventh Legion called for patience while more subtle efforts to defeat the Arcturans were initiated. On 23 July, Combine infiltrators successfully entered Sigmundrac through the city's sewers and aquifers before planting explosives underneath the Arcturans' command center. That same night, Tai-sa Olivares ordered the defending Lyrans to surrender and detonated the explosives when they predictably refused, decapitating the enemy unit and instigating the Combine's push on the capital.[1]
Doulton's Regulars primarily served in a supporting role to the Eleventh Legion, with Olivares dispatching his entire BattleMech contingent to separate the Arcturans from the capital's spaceport. The Arcutrans' acting commander Nadine Killson was forced to send most of her own 'Mechs to prevent the Eighth Regulars from joining the battle, resulting in a bloody clash between the Vegans' 'Mechs and the Lyrans' infantry and armor that left both sides badly hurt. By dawn of 24 July, the Eleventh Legion withdrew from the front line, safe in the knowledge that their damaged vehicles could be easily repaired and that the Eighth Regulars were fresh for the fight. The Twenty-third Arcturan Guards spent the next three weeks holed up in the spaceport, until word of Combine victories elsewhere finally lead to their withdrawal from Alrakis on 13 August.[1]
