Angelo Dorden was a notable fighter pilot in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns' 116th Interceptor Squadron during the Palmyra Debacle.[1]
History
Sergeant Dorden flew as a member of the Valkyries—officially designated as the 116th Interceptor Squadron—during the Federated Suns' defeat in the Palmyra system. When the Valkyries' Leopard CV-class carrier was destroyed by the Draconis Combine's initial attack, squadron commander Captain Henrietta Vickers lead her pilots in a coordinated strike that destroyed half a squadron of enemy Koroshiya fighters with their Gauss rifles before disabling an Okinawa-class DropShip. The Valkyries then struck against a Taihou-class DropShip in an effort to save the FSS Nikolai Rostov from destruction. While the Rostov and the Valkyries did not survive the battle, the FedSuns pilots ultimately earned a Pyrrhic victory when Dorden—the final surviving flier—rammed into the Taihou with his fighter, destroying them both.[1][2]
Aerospace Fighter
