History

Origins

The Nova Cat Provisional Cluster was a relatively new formation predominantly staffed by Clan Nova Cat refugees seeking asylum in the Clan Protectorate after fleeing the Republic's collapse.[1]

The Nova Cat refugees were offered a place within the Protectorate military, but many of them didn't fully trust the Spirit Cats—who they still viewed as fanatical cultists—or the Free Worlds League government. At the beginning of the IlClan Era they were the only confirmed survivors of the Nova Cats.[1]

IlClan Era

The birth of the IlClan shook the roots of the Protectorate, which reluctantly decided to help Clan Sea Fox defend the Wolf Empire. Meanwhile, the Provisionals—expecting to curry favor with IlKhan Alaric Ward—launched an attack alongside Clan Sea Fox's Beta Strike Cluster against the invaders on their own initiative. After clashing with Marik forces on Stewart, the Provisionals were defeated and subsequently chose to return to Angell II in order to salvage their relationship with the Clan Protectorate, asking for surkai.[2]
