History
Early Formation of Nomad Republic
At the end of the Jihad, the Word of Blake was soundly defeated on Terra and Devlin Stone created the Republic of the Sphere. However, after he disappeared, the HPG network went offline on Gray Monday. In the chaos and increasing violence the Republic was attacked from all sides, betrayed from within, and crumbled until the Fortress activated. No other faction could enter Terran space due to a technology far beyond their understanding. Finally, Clans Wolf and Jade Falcon were able to breach the wall and battled the Republic for Terra. In the end, between two Clans, Devlin Stone’s Republic of the Sphere was defeated and subsequently Clan Wolf defeated Jade Falcon. Clan Wolf declared itself ilClan of all the Clans and declared a new Star League.

Even having been defeated, the people of the Republic were not going to allow the spark to die. While the mass increase of armaments was one major factor during the Fortress, Space Exploration was another. Exploration Expeditions were launched across the Inner Sphere and into the Periphery. Some found nothing while others made incredible discoveries. One such cluster of discoveries was beyond Federated Suns space and past the Periphery March Spinward. A corridor between the Tortuga Dominions and Raven Alliance would be the path of the Republic Exodus. Their goal would be a cluster of systems in the Deep Periphery.
However, there were RAF units scattered across the region of the Terran Hegemony and they would be found first. Jonah Levin with the bulk of the Paladins and Knights would lead survivors of Stone’s Brigade in lightning attacks to disrupt activity of other factions and recover survivors. They would move Anti-Spinward, Rimward, then finally slice through the Capellan Confederation and move Spinward through the Federated Suns to regroup with the main flotilla.
Like his Grandmother Belle Lee did during the Jihad, Jeremy Lee had fought valiantly on Terra and been placed in Command by Jonah Levin. After many discussions while hidden in a lost system near Terra, Jeremy Lee would lead the Nomad Republic to find a new home. There were thousands of personnel and thousands of family members aboard the vessels.
Using the Command vessel, Refuge, a Conquistador Command Dropship, Jeremy plotted the navigation based on the Exploration Team’s reports. Regardless of success or failure on Terra, Stone had ordered the Expedition teams to return to the worlds for long term study and preparation for colony building. With factions on all sides, the Republic, and now ilClan, would always be a target for someone.
Alongside the Conquistador were a variety of Overloads, Fortresses, Tiamat IIs, Unions, Aerodyne, and Aerospace fighters. Civilian vessels were also part of the flotilla that provided berthing for the civilians. Some vessels were growing food while others recycled water and more. One key issue of the fighting on Terra was excess armaments, beyond the personnel available and trained to use it. This equipment was at least now able to protect the Nomad Republic.
When the flotilla would enter a system they would search for any Dawn Guard personnel attempting to return to Terra from the Federated Suns. They continued on through the Federated Suns, smartly, and narrowly missing the massive fighting between the Federated Suns and Draconis Combine as Julian Davion and Erik Sandoval retook New Avalon and the Dragon’s Tongue.
Finally, they reached the Periphery. The final world to stop on was Abbeville. A resupply and liberty took place among the population of the Nomads, both military and civilian; giving the world a short but, sudden economic boom. The Federated Suns citizens on this world did not even know that the Wolves had claimed Terra yet and provided great levels of hospitality during the weeks the flotilla was at the planet.
Meeting aboard the Refuge General Jeremy Lee brought in the Command Staff, including the Leader of the civilian population aboard Homefleet, Knight Kitsune Kurita. This included a Paladin and Knights that were to ensure the safety of the Republic’s Survivors and flame of hope. Paladin Gareth Sinclair was given Command over the Knights aboard the Flotilla. This included some such as Raul Ortega, Deandra Lowe, Alexi Holt, Joy Lovess, and Knight Kerensky.
Kitsune’s link to the Federated Suns through his father, Victor Steiner-Davion, was a great asset as they interacted with the Federated Suns. He brought his entire family – His wife, Sandra, both his daughters and both of their husbands, then their children and spouses. It was a strong family line, eagerly awaiting great grandchildren. His granddaughter, Lisa and her husband would stay behind on Abbeville as a point of contact with the Federated Suns to build an Embassy. Being close to the Raven Alliance, it would aid in trading and purchasing goods for the flotilla. The various functioning HPG vessels in the flotilla would ensure consistent communication.
Jeremy Lee made sure to leave a Company on the planet to ensure the new Ambassador’s safety, and the world’s. This was their vital connection to the Inner Sphere for now. Being able to support the garrison and both military training centers was a great boost in security for the planet. On top of that the Company retained a number of volunteers who wanted to stay in the Inner Sphere. However, a distant flash among the stars changed everything.....
