Hanse (Hannah) Rippon-Hart was a noble from the Lyran Commonwealth.

History

Rippon-Hart would attend the War College of Buena.[2]

After facing off against Clan Smoke Jaguar and the multiple defeats they faced, Hanse began to spiral and much of the inner turmoil he faced came to light. He faced a number of realizations: the permanent damage he had done to his own body, the dangers of this colossal threat that the Clans were, and that his dead ideology he dug up from over 1000 years in the past would not be tolerated in the Inner Sphere. As those around him continued to lie to his face about the very basis of his own reality and he found no comfort in worshipping an ancient demon the darkness overtook him.[1]

Late one night while only the dropship's skeleton crew manned the bridge he walked into the mechbay and entered his Merlin. Using his override commands he released the mech into space just before the jumpship they were attached to departed the system. In truth, he almost killed the crews of his own ship, the jumpship, and two other travelling dropships because of the sudden change in balance and weight. [1]

A few days later his old unit returned to find his frozen corpse still in the Merlin's cockpit, floating near the jump point after his selfish actions nearly killed all of them. [1]

A settlement was made that cost Vendrell hundreds of millions of C-Bills to the parties affected by the near miss of the released Merlin. The mech was retained by the unit. In the end, Hanse' name was scrubbed from the Mountain Wolves' rosters. His corpse was buried in a small grave at the Duke's estate with nothing more than his name "Hanse Rippon-Hart" on the small stone. [1]
