Vela Horgan was a notable armored infantryman in the Fifth Ceti Hussars during the Palmyra Debacle.[1]
History
Sergeant Horgan was a member of Sergeant Major Eduardo Reyes' sniper squad during their guerrilla campaign on Palmyra. In August of 3144, Horgan was credited with the assassination of Draconis Combine Tai-sa Hideo Washiba, which Federated Suns analysts believed to have been one of only six incidents where a FedSuns sniper achieved a kill from over a kilometer away within the last decade. After killing Washiba, Horgan and her comrades endured three hours of artillery that resulted in the destruction of the building she fired from, although the unit's battle armor kept them safe from both shrapnel and the Combine patrols sent to locate them. Federated Suns intelligence believed that she survived her initial resistance efforts on Palmyra, although the remnants of her battle armor suit were ultimately captured by the Combine.[1]
