History
Tori Ishihara was the commanding officer of the Ryuken-go in 3139.[2]
Ishihara served as the Professional Soldiery Liaison to Wolf's Dragoons during the time that the Dragoons were employed by the Draconis Combine to conquer the worlds of the Draconis Reach.[3]
While working with the Dragoons, Ishihara shared a professional respect and then affectionate feelings towards Colonel Henry Kincaid, commander of the Spider's Web Battalion and Ishhara's counterpart in operational planning.[4]
Ishihara made the decision to go against Kanrei Matsuhari Toranaga's orders that the Ryuken-go was not to enter Federated Suns space by deciding to mount a rescue operation for Dragoons forces stranded on Glenmora.[5]
At the completion of the campaign to conquer the Draconis Reach, Ishihara not only wasn't punished by Toranaga, she received the warlord's full approval, and he even promoted her to Tai-sho of the Ryuken on 23 September 3140, the first Tai-sho that the Ryuken had had since Minoru Tetsuhara.[6]
After Tori's superb performance on the Draconis Reach Campaign, she was awarded a prestigious Shiro BattleMech, the first one given to the Ryuken, a privilege highly sought.[7]
Tori did an excellent job keeping the Dragoons in the Combine; but after the fall of New Avalon, in 3146, the Combine began sidelining them. In the middle of 3150, Tori was replaced as liaison officer. Her successor, Tai-sa Reiko Akamine, was a hard-liner with a severe disdain for mercenaries. Her actions enraged the Dragoons who, barely three months later, considered their contract void after several offenses, and left the Combine service.[8]
BattleMech
Ishihara piloted a Sphinx 'Mech during the Draconis Reach Campaign, but after it she was given a Shiro (BattleMech).[9][10]
