Yahn Sun was a sport commonly played by spacers.

Overview
Yahn Sun developed out of an informal game played by spacers during travel, dating back all the way to the early days of space exploration. The crew of the Yahn Sun, a Tikonov Grand Union JumpShip, formalized the game (earning it its name), standardizing the rules and creating a tournament structure. A league formed, the Interstellar Yahn Sun League, governing tournament play.

Yahn Sun is a two-player game, generally played in a JumpShip's grav deck to take advantage of gravity settings; space stations have been used as well. Each match consists of five games of three rounds, played respectively at 0, 0.5, and 1g Terra standard. Rounds start with a player throwing the mark, a small flat magnetic target, onto the board, a large rectangular semi-ferric playing surface. From a distance of about ten meters, players each throw their cap, a flat magnetized disk, trying to land closest to the mark. Landing on the board is called a hit, bouncing off is called a miss, and missing the board entirely is called a wild.

Once both players have thrown, the one whose cap is farthest from the mark gets a rebuttal: two more attempts to land their cap closer. If they land closer than their opponent, the other player gets one rebuttal as well, two more throws. Landing on the opponent's cap removes it from the board; this is called a shunt. The round ends if the first rebuttal fails or at the conclusion of the second rebuttal.

Points are scored in two ways. At the end of each round, the player whose cap is closest to the mark gets a point. As well, any player who lands their cap on the mark, an act called a strike, immediately gets a point. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the match.
