As of early 3028, Hayes was a member of the Fire Lance, [[Tony Ziulkovski|Ziulkovski's Company]] of Charlie Battalion. Following the [[Battle of Misery (3028)|Battle of Misery]], Hayes joined the Heavy Lance of Beta Regiment's Fourth Provisional Company, as part of which she went on to also fight in the [[Battle of Wapakoneta (3028)|Battle of Wapakoneta]] and the [[Battle of Crossing (3029)|Battle of Crossing]].<ref name=WDSB/>

On [[Wapakoneta]] Hayes' service included fighting with the Fourth Provisional Company against elements of the [[Twelfth Galedon Regulars]] and the [[Third Proserpina Hussars]] on 29 November 3028 near Stiverson Pass,<ref name=TFSWS>''The Fourth Succession War Scenarios Volume One'', pp. 32–33</ref> and on [[Crossing]] she ultimately lost her life in the fighting.<ref name=WDSB/>
