VaultShip Beta was one of six VaultShips commissioned by Clan Jade Falcon in 3132 in response to the Blackout, to stabilize the Kerensky by using the assets stored aboard the vessel for trade along the Clan Occupation Zones. These VaultShips were reconfigured Mule-class DropShips.<br />
<br />
For the purpose of this article, VaultShip Beta is considered to be the name of the individual VaultShip. It is ultimately unclear if this was the true name of the DropShip itself (which would have existed, presumably under another name, before the conversion), or if it referred to the DropShip's role with its entire task force which would invariably encompass a JumpShip with a Lithium-Fusion Battery and assorted escort assets including at least an assault DropShip and a Trinary of troops.<br />
<br />
==Operational History==<br />
Beta&#39;s operating area was the Wolf Empire, and most of its travels were along set routes. As with all of other VaultShips, its initial Trinary was composed of elite warriors, but after 3137 they were moved to the Golden Ordun and replaced by solahma and dezgra warriors, the dregs of the Falcon touman, proving how little the new Khan, Malvina Hazen, appreciated the ships' vital work.<br />
<br />
After Malvina began her move to Terra, she ordered all VaultShips returned to Sudeten and emptied of their contents. Merchant Factor Marena, who was aboard Alpha, ignored the order. With the HPG Blackout and the confusion of orders to mobilize the Falcons' full touman, Marena gambled on the hunch that Malvina could not understand what a VaultShip was and pretended that Alpha was unable to return. This forced Malvina to depart without the Clan's money. Marena took the opportunity to create her own state in the Hinterlands, the Alyina Mercantile League, and called all VaultShips there.<br />
<br />
After the end of Battle of Terra signaled the Falcons' defeat and subordination to Clan Wolf, Wolf forces in the Empire attacked VaultShip Beta, trying to seize it, claiming that all that once belonged to the Falcons now belonged to the Wolves. Their attempt failed. VaultShip Beta returned to Alyina and to Marena's new state.<br />
<br />
As all the contracts between Wolves and Falcons were now void, at least for the time being, all of VaultShip Beta's contents were offloaded and stored on Alyina. A rogue mercenary group, the Tread of Doom, broke its contract with the League and unsuccessfully attempted to steal VaultShip Beta's riches.<br />
