In February [[2980]], in his role as chairperson of the Tharkad Equestrian Society, [[Archon]] [[Giovanni Steiner]] was participating in one of their equestrian show jumping competitions on Tharkad in front of 100,000 people at the [[Commonwealth Dome]]. After his horse mis-stepped before a jump, Giovanni was thrown into the fence, and was mortally wounded.<ref name=HS(TLC)p75></ref><br />
