New page

Notability
The source that mentions this character is non-canonical. I think the notability of that source for the purpose of this wiki pretty much ends with the article about that source, and doesn’t extend beyond that. This character from a non-canon source is therefore not notable enough to warrant his own article; at best he might get a mention in the main article.

I suggest deleting this article (and any others like it). Frabby (talk) 04:16, 19 January 2022 (EST)

: Agreed - Makes sense to me. --HF22 (talk) 04:56, 19 January 2022 (EST)

:: I understood that as per the text of the article: It has been established that the background information for the world of Bryant from War of the Tripods is canon, while the adventure itself is not-canon. So he does exist, has that rank and everything. So the article could be valid, but should not include anything on the adventure itself. At least that was my understanding. --Pserratv (talk) 05:52, 19 January 2022 (EST)

::: Per the forum link to Herb's comments on the War of the Tripods, he noted that "Anything after 3135, though? Non-canon". Accordingly since the mentions of Hill are all dated 3136, I think that falls into the non-canon part of the book, strictly speaking (unless anyone can see a better way of understanding the ruling). --HF22 (talk) 06:04, 19 January 2022 (EST)

::::Ah ok, if the character is part of the "background for Bryant" then he is canon. In that case, the Non-Canon tag in the article is wrong and must be removed.
::::Case closed. Not an article for deletion after all. :) Thanks all. Frabby (talk) 07:24, 19 January 2022 (EST)

:::: It looks to me (unless I'm misreading) that the character is mentioned just after the background, and the date given for his sections are in the date range Herb confirmed as non-canon (i.e. 15 March and 15 April 3136 - so after 3135)? --HF22 (talk) 07:35, 19 January 2022 (EST)

::::: I'm with HF22 here: by Herb's statement, there seems to be a distinction between the general planetary background/details and the adventure's post-3135 background. --Tumult&Travail (talk) 07:40, 19 January 2022 (EST)
