Overview
The Requiem was a four-movement composition for a chamber quintet of two violins, a viola, a cello, and a Chapman Stick, with possible and debated percussion in the third movement. A tribute to early space travel, the piece builds up to a fourth movement climax representing a binary sunrise. Technically and stylistically challenging, by 3136, the Requiem was widely known but rarely attempted, seen as an audacious selection.

On 16 March 3136, the Coyote Bay Collective performed the Requiem on Kessel, receiving a largely negative review from Elliot Grimm.
