Rayan Shiver was raised by her uncle on the outskirts of [[Galatea|Galatea City]] and watched as numerous legendary [[mercenary]] units came through the [[Mercenary's Star (hiring hall)|Mercenary's Star]]. After her uncle died, she stowed away on a mercenary transport to Solaris where she competed and excelled despite her relatively young age.<ref name=MW5Mmdd/><br />

Eventually, she began piloting a new [['Mech]] and achieved an unprecedented winning streak, leading to accusations of match fixing. She was forced to participate in a gauntlet match which would see her crippled, ending her career.
