A relatively junior ''oyabun'' during Theodore Kurita's rise to power in the 3030s, Yamaguchi wholeheartedly backed his reforms and eventually rose to become the leading yakuza member on Luthien. "The Old Cat", as he dubbed by the yakuza, also became something of a close friend to the Coordinator, and used his power to support Theodore's rule.<ref name=ER3062p78/><br />
