Hanson Toliver was a member of the [[Crimson Sabres]] during the pirate band's campaign on [[Novo Tressida]] within the [[Magistracy of Canopus]] in the mid-3060s. Following the Sabres' assassination of [[Duke]] [[Tremain Garson]] along with the deaths of a number of other people the mercenary command known as [[Pike's Pikemen]] were hired to protect the planet and the new Duke, [[Cornel Garson]]. When the Pikemen fought the decisive battle against the Crimson Sabres that saved the life of Duke Cornel Garson on the 6th of July [[3066]] Hanson was the senior Sabre on the field, commanding Sabre Lance. Seven Crimson Sabre [['Mech]]s were downed by the combined forces of the Pikemen and the Ducal Guard, and Hanson was captured.
