==History==
The '''Gacrux Skye March Militia''' was formed as a part of the [[Federated Commonwealth]]. This is somewhat ironic, as most of its members are retired veterans who were also members of the [[Brotherhood of Cincinnatus]], a pro-[[Steiner]] nationalist group that opposed the FedCom Alliance.<ref name="fmla115">''Field Manual: Lyran Alliance'', p. 115 - "Militia Profile"</ref> The Gacrux SMM was overjoyed when the [[Lyran Alliance]] formed, but continued to push for increased combat operations against the [[Free Worlds League]]. At that time, the unit was renamed as '''Gacrux Freedom Theater Militia''' as it was assigned to a different Theater. At that time, those requests to attack Marik targets had fallen on deaf ears.
