In 3025, Michel was a MechWarrior within the Waco Rangers' Sanchuie's Scout Lance, Noble's Headquarters Company of the First Battalion (Noble's Assault Battalion).<ref name=MH/>

In September 3032, while still a MechWarrior in Sanchuie's Scout Lance, Michel participated in the fighting between the Waco Rangers and [[Snord's Irregulars]] on [[Nockatunga]]. Michel was part of a group of Rangers 'Mechs, including [[Colonel]] [[Wayne Waco]], which were trapped by the Irregulars in the hills twelve kilometers from the city of Thule. The Rangers were defeated by the Irregulars in the ensuing battle, with [[Cranston Snord]] disabling Colonel Waco's 'Mech, though choosing to spare his life.<ref name=RI/>
