The '''2nd Quentin Protectorate Militia''' is one of the many militias raised by [[Word of Blake]] to defend the [[Word of Blake Protectorate]]. ==History==
Quentin was absorbed into the Word of Blake Protectorate during the [[Jihad]]. It became the base of operations for the [[47th Shadow Division]] and raised three Protectorate Militia divisions. These divisions were trained by [[Khasparov's Knights]].<ref name="J:FRp57"/>

In early 3077 [[Sorenson's Sabres]] raided the world in force, but didn't encounter any Manei Domini troops.<ref>''Total Chaos'', p. 98</ref>

The planet was targeted for liberation by the allied coalition in May [[3077]] as a part of [[Operation SCOUR]].<ref name="J:FRp57"/>

At first, the Forty-seventh Shadow Division did not show up, and the Coalition forces found nothing beyond the Protectorate Militia. Though well-equipped, the Militia's skills were no match for the elite forces of the [[Draconis Combine]] and [[Clan Wolf]] forces that shattered the militia.<ref name=TCp98/> Then the campaign quickly bogged down when the allied forces were struck by terrorist bombs on the 17th of May 3077 that hit three [[DropShip]]s as well as a [[Manei Domini]] attack aimed at the commanders of the task force, which included ''[[Kanrei]]'' [[Kiyomori Minamoto]]. The Blakist forces on Quentin received reinforcements in late May when a small Word of Blake fleet dropped several [[Level II]]s of troops onto the world, reinforcing the Manei Domini forces already fighting against the coalition troops.<ref name="J:FRp57"/> The Blakists had taken advantage of a lapse in the air cover provided by the [[Armed Forces of the Federated Suns]] over the northern hemisphere; even as the forces on the planet were receiving reinforcements, the [[Forty-seventh Shadow Division]] revealed its presence by destroying an overextended two-[[Star]] patrol from [[Clan Wolf]] forces.<ref name="JHS:Tp33">''Jihad Hot Spots: Terra'', p. 33, "Official Update 3"</ref><ref name=tcp99/>

By the end of June, the Blakists had made wide use of biological weapons as a part of their campaign against Minamoto's forces, leading to Minamoto implementing martial law, an extremely unpopular measure with the local population. The bulk of the Forty-seventh Shadow Division was finally cornered and destroyed in late July, when the coalition forces assaulted a hidden mountain base that had been discovered near the capital city. The combined forces of the [[First Sword of Light]] and Clan Wolf's [[Tau Galaxy (Clan Wolf)|Tau Galaxy]] trapped the Blakist forces and crushed the bulk of them bar the few survivors who managed to escape to a nearby Blakist [[WarShip]].<ref name="JHS:Tp33"/><ref name=tcp99/> However, the heavy-handed actions of the coalition forces saw the local population promptly rise up. The situation on Quentin quickly broke down to the point that coalition [[General]] [[Belle Lee]] decided to replace Minamoto's garrison forces with elements of the [[Com Guards]].<ref name="J:FRp57"/>

As long as a Protectorate Militia force is fighting on its homeworld and is acting as the scenario's Defender, the Protectorate Militia force receives the Force the Initiative and Off-Map Movement special abilities.

If deployed as the Attacker in a scenario, the Protectorate Militia force loses its Force the Initiative ability, but retains its Off-Map Movement capability.

If deployed on a world other than its homeworld (such as an Epsilon Eridani force being deployed on Genoa), the Protectorate Militia force not only loses all of its special abilities, but also suffers a –2 Initiative modifier.
