In July [[3027]], Weyland Piers served under [[Subcommander]] [[Rodney Piet]] when the world of [[Rollis]] was raided by a [[Lance]] of [[BattleMech]]s from the [[5th Syrtis Fusiliers]].  The raiders, under the command of [[Leftenant]] [[Theodore Barkley]], expected to meet light resistance, but the stubborn defense of the Home Guard that took the Federated Suns troops by surprise.
