Formed as the [[Vega Protectorate]] in [[3136]], the province was originally an independent state centered on [[Vega]] that arose after the [[Republic of the Sphere|Republic of the Sphere's]] [[Prefecture I]] collapsed into chaos after the [[Blackout]]. As the proto-state had been founded in part by [[Clan Ghost Bear|Ghost Bear]] warriors the Vega Protectorate established ties with the Rasalhague Dominion, and in [[3144]] it was absorbed into the Dominion as a semi-autonomous province. In mid-[[3151]] when the Dominion voted on whether to join the new [[Third Star League|Star League]] established by [[ilKhan]] [[Alaric Ward]], both Vega and the province as a whole skewed towards the [[Deniers|Denier]] camp.
