Major General ''' Robert Madson''' was the commanding officer of the [[Star League Defense Force]] [[LX Corps (Star League)|LX Corps]] in [[2764]].<ref name=FM:SLDFp84/>

==History==
Born on the [[Terran Hegemony]] world of [[Rio]], before joining the SLDF he earned a Master's Degree in cybersecurity and a Doctorate in network science. Despite this background, his military service was in combat divisions rather than [[Star League Intelligence Command]], due to his preference to be hands-on in the field.

He still however helped make improvements in SLDF network security, targeting and communication systems, leading some to encourage him to take up a research position within the Hegemony.<ref name=FM:SLDFp84 />

* According to author [[Craig A. Reed]], the character is a tribute to his late friend [[Robert Madson (person)|Robert Madson]], a [[BattleTech]] fan and contributor to ''[[BattleTechnology]]'' magazine together with Reed back in the day.
