In [[3029]], it carried elements of the [[Twentieth Avalon Hussars]] to [[Corey]] in the fifth attack wave of the [[Fourth Succession War]]. Upon arriving in the Corey system, the ''Orkney'' ruptured the heat exchange in its drive-coolant system, leading to radioactive contamination and poisonous gases. The ship was saved by heroic [[Sergeant]] [[Theodore Osson]] who entered the engineering section in a space suit and repaired the coolant system, staving off an explosion that would have destroyed the ''Orkney''.<ref>''NAIS The Fourth Succession War Military Atlas Volume 2'', p. 38</ref> Compared to this drama, the actual conquest of Corey was reported as anticlimactic.
