[[Galaxy Commander]] [[Tirill Nostra]] was on Hoard along with the [[4th Provisional Garrison (Clan Nova Cat)|Fourth]], [[17th Provisional Garrison (Clan Nova Cat)|Seventeenth]] and [[49th Provisional Garrison (Clan Nova Cat)|Forty-ninth Provisional Garrison Cluster]]s in May [[3060]] when forces from a number of Clans began launching attacks on the Nova Cats, beginning with attacks by forces from [[Clan Star Adder]] on the 6th of May.<ref name="POGp8"/>

The [[11th Armored Cavalry Squadron (Clan Star Adder)|Eleventh Armored Cavalry Squadron]] and the [[417th Adder Sentinels (Clan Star Adder)|417th Adder Sentinels]] began the attack, followed by forces from [[Clan Ice Hellion]] and then, two days later, forces from [[Clan Wolf]]. Forces from [[Clan Hell's Horses]] arrived at the same time as those from Clan Wolf, but didn't attack until the 13th. It was from [[Star Colonel]] [[Eliza Talasko]] of the Eleventh that Nostra learned of the Nova Cat [[Trial of Abjuration|Abjurement]], and that the Abjurement had been decreed by the [[Clan Council]] in retaliation for the Nova Cats joining the [[Second Star League]] and fighting for the Second Star League during the [[Great Refusal]] on [[Strana Mechty]], although by the time Nostra learned of what had happened the Fourth PGC had taken heavy damage and the Seventeenth had nearly been destroyed.<ref name="POGp8"/>

Nostra continued to have Kappa Galaxy defend against the various Clan forces so that as many of the Nova Cat civilian castes on Hoard could escape to the ''[[Aegis]]''-class heavy cruiser [[Chronicle|NCS ''Chronicle'']], which was attached to Kappa Galaxy at the time, and which would subsequently ferry those who escaped back to the Nova Cat holdings in the [[Inner Sphere]]. The [[1st Wolf Lancers (Clan Wolf)|First Wolf Lancers]] kept a dogged pursuit of the Fourth PGC up for several days as Star Colonel Bel led his Cluster on a determined defense, the Forty-ninth PGC having already been destroyed when forces from several units from different Clans deliberately concentrated their fire on them, destroying all forty-five [['Mech]]s within the unit and killing all of the Nova Cat warriors. The Fourth had survived until the 13th largely because on the night of the 12th, the Ice Hellions' [[45th Striker Irregulars (Clan Ice Hellion)|Forty-fifth Striker Irregulars]] had chosen to attack the First Wolf Strikers - in fact, fratricidal attacks between the various Clan units opposing Kappa Galaxy was the main reason any elements of Kappa were still functioning by the 13th.<ref name="POGp8"/>

On the 13th the Star Adder [[York (WarShip class)|''York'']]-class destroyer [[Star Fire|CSA ''Star Fire'']] attacked the ''Chronicle'' above Hoard, only to be destroyed by the heavier [[WarShip]]; even as the ''Star Fire'' was being destroyed, the Hell's Horses [[12th Mechanized Cavalry (Clan Hell's Horses)|Twelfth Mechanized Cavalry Cluster]] joined the attack on Kappa, the first time Hell's Horses had attacked since landing on Hoard.<ref name="POGp8"/> Ultimately the clusters of Kappa on Hoard would fall to this avalanche of multiple Clans and were obliterated. <ref name=FMCS-124>''Field Manual: ComStar'', p. 124 "Clan Nova Cat - Zeta Provisional Galaxy"</ref>

However, the remaining clusters of Kappa on Circe would avoid major combat when they were approached by [[Clan Snow Raven]] with the offer of Raven ships to screen and escort the Nova Cat withdrawal from the Homeworlds to the [[Inner Sphere]] in exchange for the Nova Cat holdings on Circe.
