[[Kommandant]] Landers, serving with the Buena War College Training Battalion, was stationed on [[Buena]] in 3050 and remained there by [[3062]].<ref name=20YUp28/><ref name=ORp20>''Objective Raids'', p. 20: "Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth - 3054"</ref><ref name=FM:LAp122/> A veteran of both the [[Fourth Succession War]] and the [[War of 3039]], Landers made great efforts to keep the [[Katherine Steiner-Davion|Katherine]]–[[Victor Steiner-Davion|Victor]] political debate out of the [[Battalion]]. Landers believed that politics would undermine the College's efforts to get the best from its cadets by distracting them from the challenges intended to make them into well-founded and accomplished soldiers. Landers' superior officer supported this stance and used their influence in the [[Lyran Alliance Armed Forces]] to keep the [[Lyran Intelligence Corps]] off of Landers' back.<ref name=FM:LAp122/>
