In July [[3039]], Alcyone was raided by [[Colonel]] [[Marcus Barton]]'s detachment of [[McCarron's Armored Cavalry]], leading to the loss of a thousand tons of materiel and heavy damage to Alcyone's spaceport. When [[General]] Voss received reports of subsequent raids on [[Monhegan]] and [[Bethel]], he tasked half of the [[Alcyone Capellan March Militia]] and the [[First Kittery Borderers]] with hunting down the Armored Cavalry—although neither unit managed this feat until the Big MAC got bogged down on [[Kathil]].<ref name=H3039p124/>
