Description
The ACL-800 Comet Airliner is a product of Avanti Aerospace of Canonbie. It is designed as a regular commercial passenger airliner, versus many of Avanti's luxury oriented civilian aircraft.

The Comet has been noted for its flexibility and useful features, which made it popular in both Lyran and Davion space. Many planetary leaders and corporate executives utilize customized versions of these planes as private aircraft. The design has proven so popular that it has been copied widely throughout the Inner Sphere.

Equipment and Capabilities
The Comet can accommodate 120 passenger (including stewards). Seating is divided into two passenger decks. A pair of first-class cabins for high-end passengers are found on the first deck. These suites offer banquet facilities and can be quickly converted into business conference centers. The business suite can also use the craft's communications system to tie into local news, datanet, and holovid feeds.

The craft has been equipped with 12 lifeboats for use in an emergency water landing. It also possesses a small medical bay to handle in-flight emergencies.

The Comet has a 21 ton fuel capacity, allowing it fly 750 km with its four Avanti AA-700 engines.

Cargo
In the rear of the plane is a secured cargo bay, which has a 7 ton cargo capacity with a rear-mounted door. The cargo bay can accommodate luggage, freight, or even small vehicles.

Variants
* Cattle Car - The Cattle Car is the nickname for a stripped down version of the Comet. These ACL-800s are meant for bulk passenger and cargo service. They remove the two first-class cabins and double the passenger and cargo capacities of the base model.

Notes
The ACL-800 features enough Paramedic Equipment to treat four patients.

As of this writing, there are no published Record Sheets for this vehicle or its variant.
