This category is for '''Core Game Sets''' for ''BattleTech'' or other related games (such as ''BattleForce'', ''AeroTech'', etc.)  A core game set is an official product that contains the rules and foundational game components (e.g., maps, tokens, miniatures, dice, record sheets, etc.) needed to play the respective game or game expansion.  A core game set for a game expansion be a self-contained game or it may require a preceding core game set to operate.  Each core game set and corresponding game system emphasizes some specific aspect level of the BattleTech universe.  While the respective games can be played separately and independently, each contains additional background that may enhance its fellow games (by nature of inhabiting a shared universe) and may permit scenarios with gameplay that could interconnect between games.
