The '''Briar Patch Guard''' was a conventional but highly skilled unit in serious financial trouble in [[3050]].

The unit had been hired to garrison the [[Arc-Royal Defense Cordon]] world of [[Great X]] in the late 3050s, when the dashing and handsome Rose saw the more plain-looking Heart, from [[Stone Hearts BattleMech company]] as a means of bailing his unit out of debt.
