Immediately prior to the [[Clan Invasion]], the regular ranked 386th Division, then a IV-kappa mix referred to by the nickname of ''The Victors'', was assigned to the [[6th Army (ComStar)|Sixth Army]] and was headquartered on the [[Free Worlds League]] world of [[Procyon]].<ref name=20YU>''20 Year Update'', p. 70: "6th V-pi"</ref> The unit's nickname does not refer to any military victory but instead came from the large number of [[Victor|VTR-9A, VTR-9A1 and VTR-9B ''Victor''s]] among the division's assault [[BattleMech]]s.<ref name=BTBoKp88>''BattleTech: Battle of Tukayyid'', p. 88: "Clan Steel Viper Campaign - Combatants"</ref>

As part of the Sixth Army, the 386th would face [[Clan Steel Viper]] during the [[Battle of Tukayyid (3052)|Battle of Tukayyid]].
