Anderson Crowley was a notable combat car driver in the Dahar Draconis March Militia during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
In 3145, Corporal Crowley was patrolling Dahar IV's Harsefield Desert when he detected a small Draconis Combine scouting force which had managed to evade detection by both the remainder of the Dahar DMM and the recovering Fourth Robinson Strikers. Knowing that he needed to report his findings but that making a radio broadcast would compromise his position, Crowley waited for nightfall before making a 100 kilometer drive to safety. Although he was subsequently ordered to withdraw, Crowley knew his knowledge of the Harsefield Desert's environment was unmatched, leading him to spend another sixty hours without sleep observing the raiders and reporting on their movements. When a company of the Fourth Strikers arrived to chase off the Combine warriors, Crowley placed the Strikers in an exemplary ambush spot before maneuvering his combat car in order to cut off the hostile troops' escape route. Despite his lack of rest for the previous three days, Crowley successfully accounted for two Raiden battle armor troopers in the ensuing fight.[2][3]
After the raiders' defeat, Crowley was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He then surprised his commanders by requesting a transfer off of Dahar, despite it being his homeworld, with a follow-up investigation revealing the existence of a harassment campaign targeted against Crowley being waged by the DMM's Pack Rat drivers. The Pack Rats believed that Crowley had usurped their status as the unit's premier desert combatants and singled him out for their abuse as revenge. In response, their battalion commander elected to decline Crowley's transfer request and instead had all of the Pack Rat drivers transition to operate the same combat car Crowley had used during the Dahar raid.[1]
